TOWN OF SAND LAKE - SEWER DISTRICT II – 2014 RATE CHANGE

Your invoice reflects a change in the Sewer District II Sewer Rates for 2014.  After a public hearing at the May 2014 Town Board Meeting, the new schedule of fees was adopted by the Town Board at the June 2014 meeting.  For all properties in the district, the fee for Capital Costs has been decreased by $20.00 per unit per 6 month billing cycle.  This is as a result of decreasing bond payments.  For properties connected to the sewer system, the fee for Operations and Maintenance has increased by $45.50 per unit per 6 month billing cycle.  Combined with the decrease in the Capital Cost fee, this results in an overall rate increase of $25.50 per unit per billing cycle for properties served by the sewer.  There has been no change in the O&M fee since the system was constructed over 10 years ago, however costs to operate and maintain the sewer system have been increasing significantly.  This increase keeps the district’s fees in line with the cost of increased repairs and maintenance necessary to operate the sewer system.
